… A True Key to Life Within The Realm of Elite Egyptian Arabian Horses.
El OwRah Arabians is proud to have a few of the greatest of the Ansata bloodlines within our herd: Ansata El Naseri, Ansata Ibn Sudan, Ansata Bint Bukra, *Ansata Ibn Halima, and *Ansata Bint Mabrouka. Each have added to the painters pallet of Egyptian Arabian living art at our farm.
More importantly, rare, would be any history of elite Egyptian Arabian horses, without reference to the years of dedication, foresight, and insight of Don and Judith Forbis of Ansata Arabian Stud (Ansata Worldwide).
They were and are a single minded team of true visionaries.
Brittany (one of our daughters) and I, had the privilege to personally visit with Don and Judith at Ansata Arabian Stud. They treated us like family. I was thrilled to meet the people I had honored for years, and it was a special day in Brittany’s life, that will always be among the fondest of her memories.
Don and Judith are wonderful people and have gifted the world with “Ansata Arabian” beauty and grace. History has recorded them as major foundation builders of Elite Egyptian Breeding.
Here are a few pictures of Brittany’s Day, at Ansata Arabian Stud:
Don is relaxing in the background, as Ansata Iemhotep towers over Brittany.
She loved it, and she loved this gifted horse! Look at the abundance of trophies lining the shelf… But more importantly, cherish the sensitivity of his kind spirit.

Brittany’s expression tells it all, as Mr. Forbis shares with her that it’s OK, to turn around and give Iemhotep a hug if she wants to.
“Really,” she said. “I can touch him?” Mr. Forbis smiled with kindness and Brittany did give Iemhotep a big hug. Of course I missed that opportunity, but that’s life with an Instamatic camera… how embarrassing!

Here, Brittany’s lost in her dream world, as she looks into the eyes of an Ansata mare. ‘”Mmmm”, she wondered, “How do we get at least one of our mares to Ansata, and into Iemhotep’s presence?”

We started out the lane at sunset. Brittany became teary eyed…. she didn’t want to leave, but then neither did I. What do you do, when you must depart from a barn and land of such Egyptian fantasia and people of such spirit and vision… “Sorry, Brittany. Adoption is not an option.”
I brought the truck to a stop. She climbed out for just one more minute on Ansata soil, and one last image to be taken of her (personal) moment within Ansata history.

It was indeed a fantastic day and wonderful experience, as we visited with Mr. and Mrs. Forbis, meet their staff, and was introduced to every horse in the barn and on the property.
Unfortunately, Ansata Iemhotep has since been sold and exported. Many breeders in the USA no longer have access to the greatness of Iemhotep. Even in this, there is wisdom to be gained…
… And to gain a more in-depth appreciation and respect for what Don and Judith Forbis has contributed to the preservation and enhancement of the Egyptian Arabian, and the perseverance they have lived, please see “Ansata 40-Years” online.
